In this book, I describe my journeys in 10 different countries in America. The travel, historical and cultural information included are taken from my personal diary, my photographic record and various travel guides. Finally this material is supplemented with information and maps from the internet.
With geographical orientation from the North to the South, I begin the narration with Canada. The first city is Montreal – a multicultural center rich in traditions brought by immigrants from every corner of the earth. Then, I travel along the Saint Lawrence River, and reach the picturesque Quebec. Next stops are Ottawa, the capital of Canada, and Toronto, one of the largest multicultural cities in the world. My trip in Canada ends at the Niagara Falls, a miracle of the nature, that were created by the transfer of water between the Erie and Ontario lakes.
After Canada, I take you through my travels in the United States. The first city I visit on the west coast is Washington, D.C., the capital of the USA, with its amazing monuments that are inspired by ancient Greek architecture. Philadelphia is next, which is the city where the Independence of the country was proclaimed. Finally, I visit the impressive Boston, the magical Metropolis New York City and the cosmopolitan Miami.
On the east coast, I take you to the beautiful San Francisco, with its famous Golden Gate Bridge. With a transpacific flight I land in Hawaii and the popular resort of Waikiki Beach. Then I visit the City of Stars and Film Studios Los Angeles, the City of Gambling Las Vegas, and finally the amazing natural monument Grand Canyon.
In the Caribbean Sea, I visit 3 islands. With a fantastic 4-day cruise, I arrive in the Bahamas with the pink colonial buildings and clear turquoise Caribbean waters.
I then fly to exotic Jamaica, famous for its idyllic beaches, rum and Reggae music. In Cuba, the journey starts from the picturesque Havana. Through the historical towns of Santa Clara and Cienfuegos I end up in the popular Varadero resort.
Then I describe my journey in Mexico – the land of the Mayas and Aztecs. First city I visit is Mexico City, the capital of the Aztecs. Travelling 40 km from Mexico City I reach Teotihuacan, one of the strongest cultural centers in Mesoamerica. From Mexico City via Cuernavaca, the city that is famous for its mild climate, and Taxco, the world’s most important silver center for centuries, I arrive at the cosmopolitan Acapulco on the Pacific Ocean. From there, I travel to the Yucatan Peninsula on the other side of Mexico to visit 2 Mayan cities – Chichen Itza and Uxmal. I walk in the narrow streets of Merida and finally end up in the cosmopolitan Cancun.
Next stop is South America with two visits in Brazil: the unrivaled Rio de Janeiro and the magnificent Iguassu waterfalls. From Brazil I travel by road to the capital Asuncion, Paraguay, with its unique architectural houses. In Argentina’s capital, Buenos Aires, I walk on the street Caminito where the first tango melodies were written. Finally, I end up in the tranquil Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay, on the north bank of Rio de la Plata and Punta Del Este, the favorite resort on the Atlantic Coast.
I believe that the book will keep you good company, calm you and relax you. You have the chance to experience many different cultures, discover unknown villages and cities, travel in spirit to other worlds, and have fun with other people. A charming journey awaits you!
